Description
   Colorless flammable gas with a faint "sweet and musky" odor when pure.

Asphyxiant, may have a narcotic effect at higher concentrations.

Ethylene is widely used in the chemical industry, and its worldwide production exceeds that of any other organic compound. Ethylene is also an important natural plant hormone, used in agriculture to force the ripening of fruits.

Ethylene density is 0,97 of air density.

Lower explosive limit (LEL) = 2,7 %vol
